Customized Therapeutic Massage
A Customized Therapeutic Massage targets trouble areas by integrating deep tissue work, compression, rocking and stretching, active neuromuscular reeducation and trigger point therapy.  Slow, flowing, detail oriented techniques relieve pain and are soothing for the mind and body. These sessions can help to increase range of motion, decrease pain, and provide deep relaxation.  Myofascial cupping and kinesiotape are used as needed to help facilitate the body's natural healing process. Guided meditation and aromatherapy are available upon request.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle and joint pain, improve labor outcomes, and improve overall maternal health. Specifically, prenatal massage can help address:
  • Low back and hip pain (general backache, shooting pain, spasms, cramping, sciatica, SI joint pain, symphasis pubis dysfunction, round ligament pain, etc.).
  • Upper back and neck pain (headaches, neck pain and stiffness, tightness between the shoulder blades).
  • Numbness, tingling and/or pain down the arms, wrists and hands.
  • Rib soreness or pain.
  • Achy, swollen legs and feet.
Prenatal massage is safe in all trimesters. After the first trimester (and before, if mom prefers), I use lots of pillows and support to help mom feel extra cozy in the side lying position. After my clients are positioned properly, they often exclaim that this is the most comfortable they've been all pregnancy - before the massage even begins!

Postpartum Massage
Postpartum massage encourages healing from labor and encourages postpartum structural integrity. It can also help:
  • Reduce residual pelvic and back pain.
  • Relieve neck, shoulder and arm strain from feeding and caring for your newborn.
  • Promote healing from cesarean surgery.
Moms can receive massage any time after the birth, even in the first week postpartum. The beauty of having an in home massage is that your new baby can be nearby the whole time, which is especially helpful for breastfeeding moms. Your little one is welcome to join you on the table if you wish. Sometimes baby is up and wants to eat during the massage, sometimes baby naps, and sometimes we have to pause the massage for a quick diaper change.  If your partner, doula, or babysitter is available, they can take baby in another room while you receive your massage. If not, that's okay too! We take our time and I don't leave until mom has gotten her full massage, even when interruptions happen.
