Preparing For Your Next Appointment...

As I review my policies and practices in preparation to return to work, I thought I'd share a few updates with you. This post will cover my Covid-19 Specific Policies, what I bring to your appointment, and what I need you to do to prepare your space for a massage session.  As always, please let me know if you have any questions!

COVID-19 Specific Policies:
  • I will be conducting a self Covid-19 symptom screening daily.
  • I will contact you the day of your appointment to perform a Covid-19 symptom screening.
  • Cancellation fees will be waived if the appointment is cancelled due to Covid-19 symptoms or diagnosis.
  • Per Michigan Executive Order 2020-114, both the therapist and the client will be required to wear a mask the entire time I am in your home. If the treatment requires that the client temporarily remove their mask, the therapist will wear goggles at that time.

What I Bring:
  • A super comfortable, luxurious massage table and bolster
  • Linens (sheets) and a blanket for the table
  • Music and a clock
  • Massage oils and/or cream, essential oils, topical liniments as needed
  • IASTM tools, silicone cups, and/or KinesioTape as needed
  • Disinfecting wipes for the table, hand sanitizer
  • Pillows (for Prenatal/Postpartum massages only)

What I Don’t Bring:
  • Extra blankets, towels or pillows - I may ask you to provide these things if they become necessary for your comfort.

Space Requirements:
  • A clear space that is at least 6ft x 9ft, with any furniture or other obstructions removed prior to my arrival.
  • I prefer a space that is on the first floor, if it is available.
  • Please keep your pets away while I’m bringing my equipment in and setting it up. I love animals, but the table is very heavy and I don’t want to accidentally squash any toes or tails!
  • Likewise, if there are small children at home during your appointment, please have them hang out in another room while I set up the table. I don’t mind if they’re around during the appointment (hey, I’m a mom, I get it!) but it’s hazardous to have them near the table as I’m setting up and/or breaking down.

Other Considerations:
  • Please allow at least 15 minutes on either side of your appointment for me to set up/break down my equipment. This means that if you have a 60 minute appointment starting at 10am, I will arrive at 10am. It will take approximately 15 minutes for me to set up my table, so your massage won’t actually start until about 10:15, and I won’t be out of your home until 11:30, at the earliest. Please adjust your schedule accordingly.
  • If it is at all possible, please keep the room between 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit. Wearing a mask and goggles can be quite stifling!

I look forward to seeing you soon!
-Kristen

I'll Be Back Soon!

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer temporarily banned all massage therapy as of March, 2020.  She has recently rescinded  that Executive Order, and as of June 15, 2020, all licensed massage therapists will be able to practice again in Michigan. I am currently working on updating my policies to keep myself and my clients safe, and ordering the products that will be necessary to do so. I will be reaching out to clients next week to schedule appointments!
